Black History Month Spotlight: Honoring Aisha Berry

As part of our Black History Month Teacher & Community Spotlight series, we are proud to recognize Aisha Berry, Family & Community Liaison at 74th Street Elementary.

Aisha stepped into this work with a powerful purpose—to be a safe space for students and a trusted bridge between families and schools. For the past two and a half years, she has poured her heart into supporting children, uplifting families, and showing up with compassion every single day.

As a mother herself, Aisha understands how vital it is for children to feel seen, protected, and valued. To her, Black History Month represents belonging, inclusivity, and the freedom to take up space—values she lives out through her work within our community.

Educators and community leaders like Aisha remind us that meaningful change often begins with care, connection, and consistency. Her dedication continues to strengthen the bond between families, students, and the community, creating spaces where children feel supported and empowered to thrive.

We are deeply grateful for educators and leaders like Aisha who lead with love, intention, and impact.
